I am François Blanchard, sculptor (Metal welding). Starting around 1990, I am working in my studio in Paris area. My artworks are made of all kind of scrap and junk metal, old garden or garage tools.
I am interested in collecting and recycling them with a particular look at every single piece.
Inspired by their original shape, transposed and assembled, I give them a second life as imaginary creatures representing expressive animals as well as humans too.
Humurous or fantatstic, each one of them has its own character and story.
I have been living in Cambridge (MA) for three years (2016-2019), creating figures for "Unexpected Encounters" collection.
Back to France, I am still focussing on metal leftovers for ongoing projects.
